Loose Rock vs Mulch in Landscaping Beds

Does your home need a serious landscape makeover?

Do you have old overgrown shrubs and something that looks like it used to be mulch?

Do you wish you could make some landscaping beds smaller and just eliminate others?

If you answered yes to these questions, we can help.  Our custom landscaping designers love to bring your ideas to life! After your landscaping beds are designed to your liking, there are
two most common option for what to put down: decorative stone or bark mulch.

  1. Decorative Stone
These come in any size from a quarter inch up to five inches in diameter! The color also varies from a solid color to more of an aggregate stone look. Installing stone in your landscaping beds costs more to install then mulch, but it will also outlast mulch by many years. Stone will never blow away or rot like mulch. Stone makes it easy to clean out your landscaping beds; because you can blow out the leaves and grass clippings.
  2. Bark Mulch
On the other hand, mulch is also a good option. Mulch has a soft look to it and a fresh smell. It is very easy to install and adds instant beauty. Ideally, you will want to add a fresh layer of mulch to your landscaping beds each spring.

Whichever landscaping bed option you decide to put around your home, give us a call and we’d love to make it happen!
